Ecocentric Mom August Goodies!

I can’t believe Summer is basically over and we’re already into another school year. The past couple of weeks have been a blur. Our family got back from vacation and went straight into back-to-school madness. It’s crazy moments like this that make me look even more forward to my Ecocentric Mom Discovery Box each month. It’s such a nice surprise to come home to after a busy day of errands and running around shopping for groceries and school supplies!  It’s a little treat for me. 😉 This month I got plenty of great goodies again. Check them out…

ips All Natural Chips ~ Yum! These snacks are Non-GMO and contain no preservatives. They contain 7 grams of protein and are made with egg whites. How unique! I received both the Aged White Cheddar and Cinnamon Sugar varieties. They are very good and satisfying. Great alternative to conventional chips and puff-type snacks. One bag sells for $1.59 to $1.99.

Truebar by Bakery On Main ~ Another great healthy snack! I love trying out new snack bars because I’m always on the go and need quick nutritious options. Trubar is dairy and casein free, GFCO Certified Gluten Free, Kosher OU Parve, and Non-GMO. It is made with chia seeds for a good source of Omega 3. I received the Walnut Cappuccino flavored bar. Very tasty. Each bar sells for $1.89. I also got a 10% online coupon and a 50 cents off retail coupon.

MacroLife Naturals Coco Greens and Berri Reds Nutrient Rich Super-Foods ~ Such a nice surprise to get these. I have used MacroLife Naturals for a couple of years now. It is a great way to ensure your kids get their fruits and veggies on those off days when they’re being picky. They contain 3.5 Bil. Probiotics and Enzymes for immune support. Just add it to a smoothie and they will love the taste. You can get a 32-day canister for $22.99 or a 64-day canister for $42.99. So worth it!

Moontime Tea’s Organic Fertility Blend ~ I received 2 sample tea bags of this delicious combo of organic red raspberry, nettle, red clover and peppermint. All of these naturally caffeine free herbs have been known to help support reproductive function. A pouch of 30 tea bags goes for $19.99. I also received a 20% online discount.

Suncoat Sugar Based Natural Mascara ~ My favorite goody in the box! Who told that I was in need of a new mascara? I make sure to replace my make-up every 4 months to keep germs and bacteria at bay. This was perfect timing. More importantly, this mascara is great for sensitive eyes like mine. It is vegan, free of PVP, acrylic copolymer, VA polymer, fragrance, parabens, alcohol and glycol. (Yeah, all that junk is in popular mascaras!)  Suncoat mascara is made with natural ingredients, including vitamin E, It builds volume and length…and is eco-friendly! At $14.99 it’s a deal!

Suncoat Girl Nail Polish ~ I’m loving this line…another favorite! I only buy nail polish that does not contain harmful chemicals and toxins…especially since my little one is always asking for a mani-pedi. Well, she is also loving this nail polish and the pretty pink shade we received. Suncoat polish is 100% free of formaldehyde, toluene, phthalates, acetates, synthetic colors, VOCs…all the bad stuff we inhale and receive when we go to the salon. It is made with natural ingredients and mineral pigments. Sells for $7.99 per bottle.

Pure + Remedy ~ Another great line! I received travel size samples of the Gentle Hydrating Moisturizer, which sells for $3.50 (regular size goes for $20). I also received a Vitamin C Concentrate Facial Moisturizer sample, which sells for $4 (regular size goes for $24). Although I haven’t started using them yet, I am pretty confident I will love them, as this is a holistic and natural skin care line, made with high quality and organic ingredients. I also received a 20% discount code.

Possum Hollow Farm Soap ~ This was a nice surprise, as it is a family run small business in Bucks County, not far from where I live in PA. The travel size bar I received is all natural and scented with essential oils. The soap is very gentle and leaves your skin feeling hydrated and soft. Possum Hollow Farm offers soaps designed with mom and babies in mind. A full size bar sells for $5.50. I received a 10% online discount too.

Untrash Compostable Bags ~ I was just saying to a friend the other day that I really need to find a good, eco-friendly trash bag. So far I’m really liking Untrash. I received an assortment of 3-gallon, 13-gallon and sandwich bags. I’m a new fan of this line. While it’s great that most cities pick up recycling nowadays, 1/3 of US residents send food scraps to landfills in plastic trash bags. Untrash is a great and convenient solution to helping reduce waste. A box of 18 3-gallon bags sells for $4.99; 10 13-gallon bags goes for $6.99; 50 sandwich bags sell for $4.99. You can even get a compost can for $24.99! I definitely plan on using my 25% off discount code. I also received $10 off a compost can.

August GIft Card ~ $10 for The Keeper or The Moon Cup, both eco-friendly feminine hygiene products.

Special Gift ~ $5 gift card for Instagrad, the gift of education. Start a college or savings fund for your little one, making it easy for family and friends to contribute too.

I received the Moroccan Clay Gentle Exfoliating Mask. There are 5 other varieties available. Each packet sells for $2.99. I received a 20% online discount too.

WEXY Biodegradable Snack Bags ~I’ve been waiting to find a good reusable baggy. I love these eco-friendly snack bags which feature four little cute and colorful monster characters. The WEXY bags are biodegradable, BPA-free and recyclable, but if you just rinse with soap and water you can reuse them too. I received 4 baggies. A box of 28 goes for $3.99. That’s a huge value considering how much it costs to keep buying plastic baggies…plus you help keep unnecessary plastics out of landfills.

Bamboo Bailey $10 Gift Card ~An online store that features everything from organic clothing, baby safe bottles and toys for little ones to eco-friendly purses and natural make-up for moms.  You can find earth-friendly, recyclable, and natural products for your home, pets and the entire family. Take a look at the stuff I got in the March box for Moms. (I’ve included the regular retail price of each in parentheses and some thoughts on the products):

1. Amazing Grass Kidz -Wild Berry Sample. I’ve been thinking about buying this for my daughter for a while and now we got the chance to sample it first! I put the powder in her smoothie and she instantly got the equivalent of 3 servings of fruits and veggies…and she loved it. Much easier than making her take vitamins/supplements. I received a 20% off coupon to purchase a box online too! ($21.99 for 15 count packets)

2. Nature’s Bakery Fig Bars. ($0.99 each) I received two of them. My daughter and I absolutely LOVE them, both the Fig and Raspberry flavors. They are dairy-free, Kosher and made with stone ground whole wheat. Better alternative to other energy bars. Make a healthy treat or snack. Taste like you’re eating fig newtons or soft, yummy cookies.

3. Go Raw Spirulina Energy Bar. ($1.19 per bar) This bar is purely raw, organic, vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free, nut-free. soy-free and GMO-free. Made with Spirulina and sprouted seeds and only 70 calories…perhaps the most perfect healthy snack.

4. Snikiddy Eat Your Vegetables Snack Chips ($2.99-$3.99)  These chips are so yummy and contain a full serving of vegetables in every ounce! I received one 4.5 oz bag of the Sour Cream & Onion variety. GMO-free, gluten and wheat free, no artificial colors or preservatives or MSG. My daughter LOVED them…so did I! 5. EBOOST ($1.79 per packet or $28 for box of 20) I received 2 packets…Daily Health Booster in Orange and Natural Energy in Pink Lemonade. You just mix these little packets in your water to get extra vitamins, green tea and more to help boost your immune system or give you a little extra energy during a workout. 6. Waxelene The Petroleum Jelly Alternative ($1.99 per sample/$6.99 for 2oz jar/$15.99 per 9oz jar) I received a sample packet of 3 applications. Petroleum Jelly aka Vaseline has been said to not be as good for the skin as many believe. In fact it can be very toxic and is actually bad for the environment as well. Waxelene offers a much better and healthier alternative. It is aerated so it won’t clog your pores like petroleum jelly. It contains Organic soy oil, beeswax, vit E oil and organic rosemary oil. Can be used for everything from chapped lips to diaper rash. It is also biodegradable. Also received 10% online coupon.

Also received 20% online coupon.

8. Mama Willow Tree Green Tea Herbal Eye Balm ($3.50 sample/$10 full) I received a sample size that comes in the form of a chapstick. Makes for easy application. I’ve been using it every morning to help with tired, puffy eyes. So far so good. Also received 10% online coupon.

9. Heaven’s Alchemy Exquisite Perfumes ($5 sample) I recieved 2 sample vials…Monaco and St. Petersburg. I really like the latter’s scent. They are alcohol/paraben/phthalate and color additive free. Created by a husband and wife. 15 scents named after some of the greatest cities of the world. Received a 15% off online coupon too.

10. Essence of Vali’s Sleep ($18 for full size) I received a sample vial of this 100% natural and vegan blend of lavender, marjoram, cedarwood and ylang/ylang. I’ve actually been having trouble sleeping recently. For the past couple of days I’ve been putting a drop on the end of my pillowcase as stated in the directions. I like the scent and I have to say I’ve had better sleep the past couple of nights. Coincidence? Also received 20% online coupon too.

11. Hazel Village Postcards (Set of 3 postcards -$3) These beautiful cards are handmade from organic cotton. I received 3 with pictures of bunnies and other Spring/Easter related animals, so my daughter and I mailed them out to friends and family. Received a 20% off online coupon too.

Contains safe minerals with aloe and green tea extract. It is top rated by EWG for safety. Can be used by newborns on up!

4. Squishy Snack Pak ($5.99 ea) This reusable spouted pouch is great for homemade baby food, yogurt, smoothies and anything squishy you want to take on-the-go. Makes it easy for little ones to eat.
